Sylvia is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with a Master's degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, Bachelor's of Science degree from Calpoly University, and an Associate of Science degree.  She is also trained and certified in Healing Hearts Leadership, Prepare/Enrich for couples, and METS (Medical Evangelism Training Strategies).

Sylvia is the founder & director of Bay Area Christian Counseling.  She has pioneered therapeutic approaches to communication skills with individuals, families and couples.  She facilitates seminars on marriage & enrichment and leads group therapy.  She also has significant experience working with adolescents and children including victims of crime.  Her clinical focus is with pre-marital & couples issues, spiritual guidance, anger management, trauma & post-traumatic stress, depression & anxiety, grief & loss, co-dependency, self-esteem issues, adjustment to divorce, life transitions, and life coaching.

Sylvia enjoys supervising and participating in the professional development of the center's interns and trainees.  She is a member of American Association of Christian Counselors  - (AACC) and California Associates of Marriage & Family Therapists  - (CAMFT).
